Sixty-year-old Festus Nevers, otherwise called ‘Casha’, a mechanic of Inverness district in Alexandria, St Ann, has been charged with the murder of his teenage son in Inverness on Saturday, March 11.

Dead is 14-year-old Kashwayne Nevers of Inverness.

Reports from the Alexandria police are that about 1:20 am, Kashwayne was at a wake, where he was participating in a dance.

While dancing, his father came and ushered him home.

It was further reported that the father started beating the youngster, and allegedly got on his motorcycle, with which he trailed Kashwayne while hitting him with stones.

The youngster sustained multiple injuries, and was subsequently taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A report was made to the police and Nevers was arrested.

He was formerly charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court date has not yet been finalised.
