8-year-old boy killed, father injured in gun attack | Loop Jamaica

The life of another of the nation’s children was cut short when he was shot dead at his family’s shop in Clarendon on Wednesday night.

The boy’s father was also injured in the gun attack.

The child, eight-year-old Thomas James Jr, was reportedly at the shop in Hayesfield with his father about 7:30 pm when a gunman entered the establishment, ordered an item then opened fire.

The boy and his father were wounded and taken to hospital where Thomas was pronounced dead, and his father was admitted in serious condition.

The police are investigating.
