Three persons killed in two separate motor vehicle collisions in St. Ann between Sunday and yesterday

Three persons have died as a result of injuries sustained in two separate motor vehicle collisions in St Ann between Sunday and yesterday.

The deceased have been identified as 22-year-old Jamar Jarrett and 23-year-old Tajay Malcolm both of Discovery Bay, St. Ann as well as 22-year-old Peta Jhia Martin of Windsor Heights, St. Ann’s Bay.

In the latest incident which occurred last evening, reports are that about 8:30 p.m. Jarrett was driving a Suzuki Swift motor car with Malcolm and another passenger along the Dunn’s River Main Road in Ocho Rios.

Upon reaching a section of the roadway, the driver of the Suzuki Swift which was travelling in a westerly direction reportedly failed to keep left and collided with the front section of a Toyota Coaster travelling in the opposite direction.

Following the impact, the Toyota Coaster continued along the roadway and collided with an embankment.

Jarrett and Malcolm sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The other passenger and the driver of the other vehicle were also reportedly injured.

Meantime in the earlier incident, reports are that about 8:25 p.m. on Sunday, Martin was driving a grey Honda Fit along a section of road in the Windsor Heights area of St. Ann’s Bay when the vehicle collided with a white Toyota Isis.

Occupants of both vehicles were taken to hospital with injuries.

Martin died yesterday.
