Amber Group remains committed to the development of Jamaica, and strengthening the resilience of small businesses, says Managing Director of the Amber Group Michael McNaughton.

Amber Innovations Limited, the software development arm of the Amber Group has signed an agreement with the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) as another Business Development Organisation (BDO) to provide digital transformation services to MSMEs impacted by COVID-19.

Small businesses with under $75 million in annual revenue can apply for these Vouchers for Technical Assistance (VTA) valued at up to $300,000 to strengthen and optimise their operations.

Business owners, once they are approved, can redeem them with the Amber Pay, Amber Innovations or Amber CyberEye business lines of the Amber Group to access a range of digital services.

According to Managing Director of the Amber Group, Michael McNaughton, “Amber Group remains committed to the development of Jamaica, and strengthening the resilience of small businesses. Through this partnership with the DBJ, small businesses may redeem their “Go-Digital Vouchers” to access a number of our products and services. These options range from e-commerce support and development, software development and cybersecurity. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and we are happy about this partnership. It will help them to not just recover from the last two years under the pandemic, but to get back on track to contribute positively to Jamaica’s development.”

Services available to approved businesses include the creation of an online store-front with a payment gateway through Amber Pay, Amber’s FinTech arm; cybersecurity testing of their existing software applications through Amber CyberEye, Amber’s cybersecurity arm; or software development support, through Amber Innovations’ team of highly-skilled and multi-stacked in-house development team.
