Four stocks made double-digit gains on Tuesday’s trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).
The largest gainers included AMG Packaging up and Paper up 17 per cent to $3.04, KLE Group up 16 per cent to $1.70, Portland JSX up 15 per cent to $11.27, Caribbean Flavours and Fragrances up 12 per cent to $1.20.
The biggest losers were JPS preference shares down 11 per cent to $353.86, Mayberry Jamaican Equities down 9.0 per cent to $11.50, Paramount Trading down 7.0 per cent to $2.15, and Fosrich down 6.0 per cent to 2.62.
The JSE Combined Index advanced by 2,733.45 points (0.82 per cent) to close at 337,774.41 points and the volume traded amounted to 25,338,038 valued at $109,559,774.15.
The JSE Main Index advanced by 2,546.17 points (0.79 per cent) to close at 325,746.49 points and the volume traded amounted to 17,081,333 valued at $87,212,275.04.
Also on Tuesday, the Junior Market Index advanced by 38.90 points (1.06 per cent) to close at 3,694.36 points and the volume traded amounted to 8,256,705 valued at $22,347,499.11.
The JSE USD Equities Index advanced by 1.13 points (0.59 per cent) to close at 192.61 points and the volume traded amounted to 339,743 valued at $36,244.50.
Overall market activity resulted from trading in 104 stocks of which 51 advanced, 36 declined and 17 traded firm.
The volume leaders included Transjamaican Highway, Wigton Windfarm and Fosrich.
