Blake and Forbes lead Jamaica team for World Indoor Championships Loop Jamaica

The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) has named a team of 21 athletes for the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland from March 1-3.

Ackeem Blake, currently ranked third globally this year in the 60m with a time of 6.45, and Shashalee Forbes, who finished second in the women’s 60m at the Millrose Games in New York on February 11, head the men’s and women’s entries respectively.  Forbes holds the fifth spot in the world rankings this year, clocking 7.03 seconds at the National Stadium in Kingston on January 27.

Also included in the team are Briana Williams, a gold medalist in the Olympic 4x100m relay in 2021, and Olympic bronze medalist Megan Tapper. Williams stands at number 13 this year in the global 60m rankings with a time of 7.11 seconds, while Tapper holds the 26th position worldwide in the 60m hurdles with 7.98 seconds.
