Businessman charged with armed robbery and more Loop Jamaica

Forty-nine-year old Sheldon Harris, otherwise called ‘One Dan’, a businessman of Norman Manley Boulevard, Negril, Westmoreland, was charged with robbery with violence, assault occasioning bodily harm and possession of prohibited weapon following an incident in his community on Monday, July 17.

Reports from the Negril police are that about 4am, a man was at home when he was attacked by three armed men, allegedly including Harris.

The assailants demanded money and when their demands were not met, they proceeded to beat the complainant, ransacked his room, and stole $175,000.

The man reported the matter to the police and on Thursday, July 20, Harris was taken into custody during an operation.

Charges were laid against him later that day.

His court date is being finalised.
