Chief Justice Bryan Sykes has again called for the judiciary to have greater control over its budget.
Justice Sykes reiterated the concern during a media engagement hosted by the Court Administration Division this morning.
Justice Sykes referenced a recent international incident where the federal judiciary in the United States wrote to Congress to have greater control over its budget.
He also referred to countries within the region which have done the same.
Chief Justice Sykes argued that the judiciary cannot be truly independent if it does not have greater control over its budget.
