A 15-year-old girl died from injuries she received after criminals broke into her home and attacked and assaulted several members of her family in Albert Town, Trelawny.
The deceased has been identified Jamalia Cole of Cotton Tree, Albert Town in the parish.
Reports are that at about 1:00 am, on Sunday, Cole, her mother, and two other relatives were at home when assailants entered their home. The culprit/s then inflicted several wounds on three of the four occupants; an eight-year-old escaped injuries.
When lawmen arrived at the scene, Cole was found with her hands bound next to the house, while her mother was found inside of the house unresponsive. A 17-year-old occupant was also found with head injuries.
The victims were taken to hospital where Cole later died. Her mother and the other teen were hospitalized.
Investigations are ongoing.
