A policeman is dead and a female passenger who was in a vehicle which he was driving on Saturday night, is in hospital in serious condition.
Indications are that about 8pm on Saturday, the policemen was driving a Nissan Note motorcar with a female passenger along the Edward Seaga (North-South) Highway, when on reaching the vicinity of Golden Grove in St Ann, he lost control of the vehicle, which overturned into a ditch.
Both occupants were subsequently taken to hospital, where the lawman died and the female was admitted for treatment.
The identity of the deceased policeman is not yet available.
