Nearly 10 months after the disappearance of dancehall artiste and holistic entrepreneur, Stephanie ‘Medikk’ Williams, the police say the investigation remains active.

In a video on the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Instagram page on Monday, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the crime and security portfolio, Fitz Bailey, said the probe is “being actively pursued”.

“Some things were submitted to the lab, and we are awaiting the results while we continue to pursue the investigation,” he said.

Williams has been missing since August 24, 2023. She was last seen boarding a car outside her apartment in Mayfair, Red Hills Road, St Andrew.

Bailey reassured members of Williams’ family and the public that police investigators remain confident that they will “ultimately” bring the investigation to closure.

Four months ago, Bailey had said skeletal remains believed to be those of Williams were found in a cane field in St Catherine on February 14, 2024.

He said then that the remains would be processed and compared with DNA samples to determine the true identity.

Medikk entered the music scene in 2018 as a 24-year-old. She is best known for songs such as ‘Money Feelings’ and her catalogue of collaborations like ‘Overcome’, featuring Shane O, and ‘Boss Level’, featuring Jahvillani.
