A police sergeant and his team in St Mary intervened in a knife fight between two men in Highgate on Sunday, December 25, saving one man’s life and charging the other for wounding with intent.

Charged is Phillip Williams, 24, a construction worker of Belfield in the parish.

Reports are that at about 2:40am, the senior police officer was leading a foot patrol team through Highgate when he saw Williams and another man fighting with a knife.

The policeman and his colleagues intervened, foiling the brawl, and transporting the injured man to a medical facility.

Williams, on the other hand, was detained and subsequently charged on, Wednesday, January 4.
