“The gun that you might refuse to tell us about might just be turned on you or some of your family or someone you know tomorrow.”

These were the words from Senior Superintendent of Police Wayne Josephs, head of the Westmoreland Police Division, as he urged residents in the parish to speak up about violence producers and share information on illegal guns.

The SSP was speaking yesterday as his team, with support from colleagues from Kingston, conducted an operation in the Gully Bank area of Savanna-la-Mar in the parish.

Due to increased tension in the area, a 48-hour curfew is now in effect.

Two shotguns have also been seized in the surge operation.
