On Wednesday, digital operator Digicel presented tokens of appreciation to Jamaica’s 48-member team following their triumphant journey at the 2023 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Berlin, Germany.
The games, which commenced on June 17 and concluded on June 25, witnessed Jamaica’s outstanding performance, earning a total of 18 medals, with an impressive 12 coming from the track and field events. Among the track and field medals, seven were gold, four silver, and one bronze.
During a celebratory mingle event held at the Digicel headquarters in Kingston, Denis O’Brien, the founder and chairman of Digicel Group, praised the athletes for their remarkable achievements.
O’Brien expressed that the athletes have not only brought glory to their nation but also upheld Jamaica’s storied sporting legacy.
