Energy Minister Daryl Vaz says he has received a preliminary report from the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) on Friday night’s islandwide blackout.
Thousands of JPS customers were left in the dark for hours on Friday night.
Power was restored on Saturday, with the JPS noting that it would be investigating the issue.
The Office of Utilities regulation said JPS was to submit a report on the blackout yesterday.
In a media update this morning, Mr. Vaz said he received the report, which is being reviewed.
In the meantime, he noted that he remains in contact with JPS about power outages being experienced in some areas today.
