A District Constable has been placed before the Westmoreland Parish Court, by way of summons, to answer to charges of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm after he was involved in an off-duty incident with a woman at a house in Negril.
Reports are that charges were laid against DC Kimarlo Woodstock on Tuesday, May 10, following an investigation and recommendation by the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) and a ruling by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
Detectives from INDECOM said the District Constable Woodstock was charged in relation to the off-duty assault of a woman at a house in Negril, Westmoreland in March 2020.
The woman was treated at the Savanna-la-mar Hospital for injuries sustained.
District Constable Woodstock was bound over by the court. The next court date is set for May 24.
