The National Water Commission (NWC) says customers who were billed despite not receiving water before and after Hurricane Melissa will have their accounts adjusted.
Acting Corporate Public Relations Manager, Delano Williams made the statement at yesterday’s meeting of Parliament’s Public Administration and Appropriations Committee (PAAC).
He was responding to concerns raised about complaints from affected customers.
Mr. Williams explained that the Commission will be treating with issues affecting metered customers whose supply was disrupted.
He added that cases involving pipeline breaks will also be examined.
He said once verified, bills which were estimated, despite a lack of supply will be written off.
He cautioned however, that because adjustments require manual review, they may not appear on the first bill issued after supply is restored.
