The epicentre of the earthquake according to the Earthquake Unit was approximately 20 kilometres north of Port Antonio, Portland.

The Earthquake Unit at the University of the West Indies is reporting that a light earthquake was felt in Jamaica at 3:20am, on Tuesday, August 20.

The epicentre of the earthquake according to the Earthquake Unit was approximately 20 kilometres north of Port Antonio, Portland.

The preliminary magnitude of the earthquake was estimated at 4.5.

The earthquake was reportedly felt in the parishes of Portland, St Thomas and Kingston and St Andrew.
