The Jamaican dollar strengthened on Tuesday against its US counterpart, according to the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ) trading summary.

The dollar gained 18 cents stronger to close at $155.34 from $155.52 on the previous trading day.

Meanwhile, the Canadian dollar closed at $116.83 from $116.78 and the British Pound closed at $197.82 from $198.55.

The dollar started August at $155.58 to US$1.
