With law enforcers in the United States nabbing a St James man wanted for murder in connecting with the deaths of her daughter and granddaughter more than two years ago, social media personality Latoya ‘Budeisha’ Reid has vowed to ensure that justice takes its course.

Doujon Duwayne Griffiths, 23, faces charges of first degree murder relative to the deaths of 20-year-old Massania Malcolm, otherwise known as ‘Carla-Shay’, and her one-year-old daughter, Jordania, otherwise called ‘Karlie’, who were killed in Miami, US in September of 2021.

Griffiths was arrested after a traffic stop last week in Linden, New Jersey, US, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office disclosed in a statement on Instagram on Tuesday.

The Jamaican will be extradited to Orange County to face justice for the September 2021 deaths of Malcolm and her daughter.

Griffiths also faces a charge of attempted murder for the shooting of Malcolm’s boyfriend, who is Jordania’s father. The baby’s father is also originally from St James.

“No matter how many years have passed, we never forget our victims, and we hope this arrest brings some sense of peace and closure to our community and the two families shattered by this horribly tragic case,” the Orange County Sheriff’s Office stated.

Reid, a popular figure from Montego Bay who resides in Florida, has been continuously sharing Griffiths’ photographs since the murders of her loved ones more than two years ago.

Known by her Instagram name, ‘goodbody_budeisha’, Reid alerted her more than 71,000 followers on the weekend that she received news of Griffiths’ arrest.

In sharing the Orange County Sheriff’s Office’s Instagram post about Griffiths’ arrest on her Instagram page on Tuesday, Reid wrote a tear-jerking message to her departed daughter and grandchild.

“My dearest Carla and Baby Karlie, I want you to know that we’ve caught the person (reportedly) responsible for your untimely departure,” Reid said.

“I promise to bring them to justice and ensure they face the full consequences of their actions. Though you’re no longer with us, your memories are etched in my heart forever. I love and miss you both immensely. 😓💔🕊#justiceforcarlaandkarlie #wefounddujoundwaynegriffiths‼️” added Reid.

The grieving mother, in a previous post on Monday, expressed her gratitude to other individuals and US law enforcers who all supported the efforts in apprehending Griffiths.

“While the pain may never fully subside, we are committed to continuing our journey with strength and resiliencesee you in court,” Reid wrote then.

Reports were that about 7am on September 7, 2021, deputies responded to a shooting incident and later found Malcolm’s boyfriend with multiple gunshot wounds.

At the scene, the Jamaican reportedly told law enforcers that he had been shot by a friend. He was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

The injured man regained consciousness after surgery, and told investigators that he was shot by a friend while in the driver’s seat of a car he was in with his girlfriend and his daughter.

The wounded man also indicated that he believed after the shooting, Griffiths drove the car away with Malcolm and the baby.

Sometime later, detectives found the wounded man’s car in a parking lot with the deceased mother and child. Malcolm died of a gunshot wound, while the toddler suffocated after being locked inside the vehicle.

Griffiths had been staying with the couple at the time of the killing. He reportedly fled Jamaica and went to the United States illegally earlier in 2021.

He was friends with Malcolm’s boyfriend, who had invited him to stay with his girlfriend and child in Miami, Florida.
