Let’s Talk – How will you be spend your Easter holidays

Easter is the time of year when many, especially a majority of Christian denominations, celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, as the period signifies the son of God dying on the cross so that the sins of mankind can be forgiven.

The period is celebrated in Jamaica with a holiday on Good Friday, the day that commemorates the death of Jesus, and another holiday on Easter Monday, which marks his resurrection to fulfill the prophecy of the Messiah being persecuted, killed, and rising on the third day.

Many Jamaicans use the long break as a time of reflection and reverence as they pay homage to God by attending church services while for others, it signifies a time of merriment and festivity, as they engage in fun-filled activities over the period.

There are others also, whose work schedule prevents them from participating in any activity during the long weekend, while some people will use the opportunity to catch up with family members and friends.
