Police investigators in Portland are trying to determine a motive for the murder of a man, said to be of unsound mind, whose body was found at Folly Oval in Port Antonio in the parish on Tuesday.

The deceased is Andre Weston of no fixed address.

Reports are that Weston was last seen alive by a relative in the Port Antonio Cemetery on Sunday at around 3pm.

Further reports are that about 4:30 pm on Tuesday, persons were at a football match at Folly Oval, when they detected a foul odour and went to investigate the source of the stench.

The body of a man, later identified as Weston, was discovered on its back in a shed on the property.

Law enforcers said there appeared to be gunshot wounds to upper and lower sections of the body.

The body was removed to the morgue, where a post-mortem is to be conducted at a later date.
