Minister of Labour and Social Security, Pearnel Charles Jr, is denying reports that he was involved or injured in a motor vehicle crash in St Catherine on Wednesday.
He said a vehicle with members of his team was, however, involved in an incident, and he went to the scene to provide assistance.
Conflicting reports have emerged on where exactly on the PJ Patterson Highway in St Catherine the crash occurred.
It is alleged that a Honda Fit motor car and unit carrying members of Charles Jr’s team, a Toyota Rav4, collided oat a section of the road.
The minister, in a tweet on Wednesday night, expressed gratitude for the many prayers, messages, and calls of concern he had received.
“A publication today (Wednesday) gave the impression to many that I was involved in a motor vehicle accident. Let me clarify that I was not involved in a motor vehicle accident, and I am not injured,” Charles Jr stated.
“A vehicle with members of my team was involved in an accident, and I was on the scene assisting to get the injured parties to hospital with urgency,” he added.
Charles Jr said the individuals were “shaken up”, but they were examined, treated, and released from the hospital.
“Keep them in your prayers,” he urged his 10.7K followers on Twitter.
