One Taurus Pistol affixed with a magazine containing twelve (12) 9mm cartridges was seized during the attempted robbery of an off-duty police officer on Old Harbour Road, St. Catherine on Thursday, March 15.
A report from the Spanish Town police suggested that at about 1:15 pm, two off-duty police officers were at a plaza conducting business when armed men attempted to rob one of them.
One of the men engaged the police in a gunfight, during which one of the officers, as well as one of the hoodlums, were injured.
The injured men were taken to the hospital, where they are being treated.
Investigations are ongoing.
