Twenty-six-year-old Nicholas Thompson, otherwise called ‘Gabba’, a farmer of McNie, St Ann, has been charged with the murder of his uncle.

Dead is 45-year-old Tyrone Brown, otherwise ‘Paul’, a farmer of Cowley district, also in St Ann.

Reports from the police are that about 6:30am, on March 26, Thompson visited his uncle on his farm in Cowley district, where he reportedly used a machete to chop Brown several times.

The police were alerted and, on their arrival, Brown was seen with multiple chop wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

An investigation was carried out and Thompson was arrested; he was charged after he underwent a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court date has not yet been finalised, the police said.
