The police are reporting that eight human skulls were discovered at a section of the road in Spring Hill, Falmouth, Trelawney.
Reports are that at about 6:15pm, on Tuesday, residents were walking along the Spring Hill Road section of the parish when they stumbled upon the remains.
They alerted the police, who responded, and upon the arrival of the lawmen, the eight charred skulls were seen.
The scene was processed by Forensic Crime investigators and the remains were removed to the Falmouth Hospital, where they were confirmed to be human skulls. They were later handed over to the morgue.
Lawmen assigned to the Trelawny Police Division are currently conducting operations at several cemeteries to ascertain whether there has been any unauthorised disturbance of graves.
Some residents in the area believe that the skulls were dumped in the area as part of a ritual.
