The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) and the Basque Football Federation (BFF) have jointly decided to postpone the international friendly game between Jamaica and the Basque Country, which was scheduled for May 27 in Spain.

The JFF stated that “the postponement became necessary as the hosts were experiencing challenges securing all the permits from their local authorities to host the game and the deadlines given had expired.”

The BFF has since apologized to the JFF and has agreed to a game in the future at a date convenient to both teams.

The Reggae Boyz still have several games at the international level over the next six to eight weeks, starting on May 25 against Catalonia in Spain on May 25.

The JFF said the international friendly against Catalonia “will offer opportunities to look at new players, mainly from Europe. These new players, depending on the assessment of the technical staff, could play a role, in short, medium, or long term plans and meets the objective of incorporating new players in our roster as early as possible in a new four-year cycle.”
