After taking to the sidewalk outside the Ministry of Finance in Kingston to demand their money on Wednesday, placard-bearing dental assistants now have a date for their retroactive payments.

Chanting, “we want our money”, the dental assistants also broke into song as they caled on Minister of Finance and the Public Service Nigel Clarke.

This afternoon, a brief statement issued by the Ministry of Health and Wellness said the matter will be “settled” on March 29, 2023.

The ministry said it advised the union representing dental assistants in the public sector, Union of Technical Administrative and Supervisory Personnel (UTASP), that retroactive payments related to the compensation review programme will be settled on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.

Watch as a UTASP representative outlined the grouses of dental assistants.
