A St Catherine man who was wanted by the police is among five men apprehended at Pear Tree Bottom, Runaway Bay in St Ann, on Tuesday.
He has been identified by the police as 23-year-old Kevin Fletcher, otherwise called ‘Tippy’, of Linstead, St Catherine.
Reports from the St Ann’s Bay police are that about 5:35am, a team of officers conducted a targeted operation in the area where several premises were searched.
Fletcher, who has been featured on the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Wanted Wednesday campaign, was allegedly found in possession of a 9mm pistol with a magazine containing three rounds.
Four other suspects were taken into custody, however, the police said their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
