Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton says the medical dome to be set up at Cornwall Regional Hospital in St James will ease in a major way, the challenges being experienced by medical staff and patients.
The dome which can accommodate 100 beds and other equipment is being brought into. Works have begun on the foundation ahead of its arrival.
Dr Tufton says the facility is valuable and timely and comes through the generosity of overseas based non-governmental organisations.
He says the dome will be set up close to the accident and emergency department providing easier access to the medical staff. The health minister is urging patience, as the authorities work to improve conditions at Cornwall Regional.
