13 y/o boy from a St Ann high school in police custody, for allegedly hitting schoolmate in head with metal chair
A 13 year old boy from a St Ann high school is in police custody, after it’s alleged he hit another student in the head with a metal chair yesterday.
The injured 12-year-old student is said to be in serious, but stable condition.
Police reports are that about 2:15 PM, the students were at school, when an argument developed.
Its alleged that the 13-year-old used a metal chair to hit the complainant in his head causing a wound that bled.
The 12-year-old was rushed to the Alexandria Community Hospital and later taken to the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital where he was treated and admitted.
This is the second incident this month, where a student was hit in the head with a chair at school.
On March 4, 16-year-old Devonie Shearer, a grade 10 student of Ocho Rios High also in St Ann, was wounded in a similar incident.
He later died.
Another grade ten student, a 17-year-old, has been charged with his murder.
