The St James Police have charged a 14-year-old boy with house-breaking and larceny following an incident in Yorkland, Somerton, in the parish on Saturday, February 8.

Reports from the Adelphi Police are that at about 12:50 pm, a family securely locked up their house and went out.

Later that afternoon, one of the family members received a notification on their cellular phone from the C.C.T.V camera system at the house.

She viewed the camera system and reportedly saw the 14-year-old boy inside one of the bedrooms, ransacking the area.

The family returned home and discovered the washroom door at the back of the house had been opened, and cash amounting to $7,000 was missing.

A report was made and an investigation launched into the matter.

On Friday, March 21, the teen was handed over to the police where he was subsequently charged for the offence following a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalised.
