Wolmer’s maintained their flawless record in the 2024 urban-area ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup football competition, securing a 4-2 victory over Tivoli Gardens in a top-of-the-table Zone E clash at Mico University College on Tuesday, matchday 13.
The win was the fourth consecutive for the 10-time champions, who now lead the table with a perfect 12 points, three ahead of second-placed Tivoli, who suffered their first defeat of the season.
Wolmer’s opened their campaign with a 3-1 win over St Jago High, followed by victories against Denham Town (2-0) and St Mary’s College (8-0). Their next match sees them host bottom-placed Edith Dalton James, who were beaten 9-0 at home by St Jago High.
St Jago’s victory, their first in three matches, moved them to three points and third place in the zone. Edith Dalton James, meanwhile, remain on one point from four games, their only result coming from a season-opening 1-1 draw with St Mary’s College.
In other action, Charlie Smith won 4-0 at Waterford High, moving up to second place in Zone B with nine points from four games, three behind leaders and reigning champions Mona High.
Waterford, with three points from four games, sit in fourth place after suffering their third defeat.
