Portland businessman Everton 'Beachy Stout' McDonald and his co-convict, Oscar Barnes, were both sentenced to life imprisonment for the gruesome murder of McDonald's second wife, Tonia.

The sentences were handed down by High Court Judge Justice Chester Stamp in the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston on Thursday.

Both men were ordered to serve 28 years and 11 months before they will be eligible for parole considerations relative to the murder conviction.

Additional conspiracy convictions carried sentences of four years and six months for McDonald, and six years and six months for Barnes, which are to run concurrently.

A seven-member jury found the duo guilty of the charges on March 6, 2024.

Prosecutors revealed that Tonia McDonald's brutal killing on July 20, 2020, was orchestrated by her husband, who contracted a man, Denvalyn 'Bubbla' Minott, for $3 million.

Minott's confession exposed the sinister plot, stating that he subcontracted the murder to Barnes because he was unable to carry out the killing.

He said it was Barnes who carried out the stabbing and burning of Tonia's body.

Her Toyota Axio was later found ablaze along Sherwood Forest main road in Portland.

The breakthrough with the investigation came when police arrested Minott, who implicated McDonald and Barnes.

Minott previously pleaded guilty to his role in the murder, and is currently serving a near 20-year prison sentence.

McDonald's legal woes are far from over, as he is to solely stand trial on April 13, 2026 for the murder of his first wife, Marlene. She was found with gunshot wounds outside her home in Boundbrook, Portland in May of 2009.
