The May Pen police in Clarendon have charged 19-year-old Miguel Grant of Havannah Heights, Four Paths in the parish with assault at common law and possession of prohibited weapon following an alleged incident at his home on Sunday, September 22.
Reports are that about 2pm, Grant and his mother were having an argument at the home, during which he brandished a handgun and pointed it in the direction of his mother, and threatened to kill her.
His mother reportedly responded by running out of the house and calling the police.
On the arrival of law enforcers, Grant was arrested and placed in custody.
He was charged on Tuesday, September 24.
A court date is being arranged for him.
