The Jamaica Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Association (JABBFA) launched the 2024 National Senior Championships in Kingston on Tuesday, marking the start of another anticipated season for Jamaican bodybuilding.

The championships will be held on Saturday at the AC Hotel, beginning at 7:00 p.m., and will feature the country’s best bodybuilding and fitness competitors vying for national titles and opportunities to represent Jamaica internationally.

With support from Mayberry Investments and a partnership with the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA), this year’s event is set to be one of the most competitive yet.

Mayberry Investments, the title sponsor for the third consecutive year, reaffirmed its commitment to the sport during the event’s launch at the office of the JOA. "We are proud to continue our sponsorship of the JABBFA National Senior Championships. Mayberry has always been committed to supporting initiatives that contribute to national development, and sports are one of the most powerful platforms to achieve this,” said Damian Whylie, general manager of asset management at Mayberry Investments. “Our partnership with JABBFA is not just about supporting athletes on their fitness journeys, but about promoting health, discipline, and excellence within our community.”

The JOA's involvement has also expanded opportunities for Jamaican athletes to compete on the international stage.

JABBFA president Audrey Allwood expressed excitement for the season, emphasizing the importance of this support.  "With the incredible support from Mayberry and the JOA, this year’s championships will be one of the most impactful yet. Our athletes have worked hard, and we are thrilled to provide a platform for them to showcase their talent and dedication," Allwood said.
