Defending champions Mona High routed Gaynstead High 18-0 at Papine on Thursday, moving clear of Charlie Smith High and Jonathan Grant High in Zone B on matchday 15 of the 2024 urban-area ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup football competition.

With the win, Mona extended their flawless start to the season, taking control of the zone with 15 points. Charlie Smith High squandered a golden opportunity to keep pace, settling for a 2-2 draw with Jonathan Grant at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex instead of securing a fourth victory in five games.

Both teams now sit at 10 points, with Charlie Smith in second place on goal difference.

Gaynstead, suffering their second double-digit loss of the season after a 14-0 defeat to Charlie Smith, remain bottom of the table without a point. They have now conceded 57 goals in five games, managing just one goal in a 7-1 loss to Tarrant High on September 12.

Waterford High secured their second win in five games, defeating Tarrant 1-0 at Jacisera Park, leaving them in fourth place on six points. Tarrant sit in fifth with three points.

In Zone A, last season’s runners-up Hydel High earned a 4-1 away victory over Dunoon Technical at Excelsior High, continuing their strong start. Hydel now have nine points from three games, trailing Eltham High, who also have nine points but lead on goal difference.

Dunoon, with their third defeat in four games, remain in third place on three points, level with fourth-placed Clan Carthy.

In Zone G, St Catherine High recorded a 4-0 home victory over Papine High, joining St George’s College at the top of the table with 10 points.
