Forty-six-year-old Leighton Merchant of Fort Stewart district, St Mary, succumbed to injuries he sustained on being electrocuted in Enfield, Annotto Bay in the parish on Thursday, September 26.
Reports from the Annotto Bay police are that about 8:25 am, Marchant was trimming a tree when he came in contact with high tension wires and was electrocuted.
The police were summoned and he was transported to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
A police investigation into the development continues.
