Two St Catherine men have been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon following an incident in Swamp Lane, Bog Walk in St Catherine on Thursday, September 26.
They are forty-three-years-old Dwaine Peters, a labourer, and 23-years-old Tillisia Anderson, both of Swamp Lane, Bog Walk, St. Catherine.
Reports are that at about 6:30 am, a joint police-military operation was conducted at the men's home. During a search, a Mac 11 submachine gun, along with a magazine, and a 9 mm Beretta pistol with a magazine, were allegedly found inside the dwelling house that was occupied by the men.
They were subsequently arrested and on Saturday, September 28, both men were charged after a question-and-answer interview in the presence of their attorney.
A court date is being finalised.
