Man booked after being allegedly found with $500k of stolen items

Forty-six-year-old Denton Bell, otherwise called ‘Denton’, an electrician of Bamboo River district in Morant Bay, St Thomas, has been charged with housebreaking and larceny, malicious destruction of property, simple larceny and receiving stolen property following an incident on Tuesday, October 1.

Reports from the Morant Bay police are that about 7:30 pm, Denton allegedly opened a kitchen window, removed the grill, entered a house, and stole several personal items amounting to $500,000.

A police team, acting on information, later visited his home, where a search was conducted. During the search, the stolen items were reportedly recovered.

Denton was arrested and subsequently charged after a question-and-answer interview was conducted in the presence of his attorney.

His court date is being finalised.
