Heavy rains associated with an area of disturbed weather have resulted in some roadways being flooded in the Corporate Area on Wednesday.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), in an Instagram post, advised the public that Marcus Garvey Drive and Grants Pen Ford in St Andrew were impassable.

Also, the constabulary informed that Birdsucker Lane near Barbican in St Andrew was impassable.

The Meteorological Service of Jamaica advised in a release on Monday that a tropical wave that was across Hispaniola was expected to merge with a developing area of low pressure southwest of Jamaica by Tuesday night.

As a result, the area of disturbed weather is expected to impact Jamaica for the remainder of the week.

The forecast is for cloudy conditions with periods of showers and thunderstorms which may be heavy at times, to affect sections of most parishes, especially southern parishes.

The conditions are expected to continue affecting the island until Friday morning, the Met Service said.
