Tivoli Gardens and Waterhouse both secured 1-0 wins at the Waterhouse Mini Stadium on Monday, closing out matchday six of the Wray & Nephew-sponsored Jamaica Premier League (JPL).

In the first match of the doubleheader, Tivoli earned their first victory of the season as Horatio Morgan’s 81st-minute goal sealed a win over promoted Racing United.

Tivoli, who had previously opened the season with a draw against Humble Lion and suffered defeats to Portmore United and Waterhouse, climbed to 11th in the standings with four points from four games. Racing United, meanwhile, recorded their third loss from five matches and are 12th, also on four points.

The second fixture saw Waterhouse secure their third consecutive win and fourth of the season, with Atapharoy Bygrave’s 54th-minute strike against Harbour View proving decisive. Bygrave, who has scored all five of Waterhouse’s goals this season, propelled the team into third place with 12 points, level with second-place Portmore United but trailing on goal difference. Montego Bay United remain at the top with 13 points, despite being held to a 0-0 draw by Humble Lion on Sunday. Harbour View slipped to eighth place with seven points.

Waterhouse assistant coach Damion Gordon expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, highlighting their defensive play and overall cohesion. "We are pleased; overall, we are pleased with the three points. In terms of how compact we were today (Monday) and how we played defensively, it was also a plus for us. We had some chances that could have allowed us to put the game away early, but that’s just how it is sometimes. We asked for support from the community, and we got that. You can see the guys fed off that energy, and I am impressed with our transition. Overall, this team is growing and developing as a unit," Gordon said in a post-game interview.

Elsewhere, Arnett Gardens and Vere Phoenix United secured significant wins on Sunday.

Arnett defeated Molynes United 3-0 at Sabina Park, with Warner Brown scoring twice and Kimani Arbouine adding the other goal. The win places Arnett on four points, equal with Mount Pleasant FA, but one spot lower in sixth due to goal difference.

Vere Phoenix also registered a 3-0 victory, overcoming Dunbeholden at the Wembley Centre of Excellence in Clarendon. With this result, Vere Phoenix moved to seven points, tied with Harbour View, but sit eighth due to goal difference.

Dunbeholden remain at the bottom of the standings, yet to earn a point from four games.
