Twenty-year-old Tyrone Murray, otherwise called ‘Alex’, who is from Salt Spring, Montego Bay, St James, has been charged with shop breaking and larceny following an incident in Runaway Bay, St Ann on Monday, October 28.

Reports from the St Ann’s Bay police are that a business owner securely locked up an establishment and left for the night.

The owner was later alerted by a security company that there was a break-in at the establishment.

The police were summoned and on their arrival, it was discovered that $40,000 in cash had been stolen from the cash register.

A search of the premises was conducted, during which Murray was reportedly found hiding in a section of the building.

He was taken into custody, and was subsequently charged with the offences.

A court date is being finalised for him.
