A 33-year-old doctor from Spanish Town, St Catherine is to answer to several charges following claims that he sexually assaulted a female his home in August.
According to a release from the Constabulary Communication Network, (CCN), the official information arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the medical practitioner identified as Nigeria Solomon, otherwise known as 'Isaiah', has been charged with; rape, forcible abduction, and grievous sexual assault.
Reports from the Center for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) are that a woman visited the doctor's office for a consultation, and was later sent a text message inviting her to a birthday celebration.
The woman agreed and attended the event. The accused then took the woman to several places in town. About 12:45 am, the woman asked to be taken home.
The doctor took the woman to his house where he had sexual intercourse with her against her will. The woman made a report to the police, who sought the accused.
He was arrested and subsequently charged after a question-and-answer session. His court date is being finalised.
