Constable Ramone Sterling
A police constable died from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle crash in Discovery Bay, St Ann on Sunday.
The deceased is Ramone Sterling, who was assigned to the Montego Hills Police Station in St James. He was said to be in his 20s.
Preliminary reports are that about 7am, Sterling and a passenger were travelling in a vehicle towards Discovery Bay when he lost control of the vehicle, which overturned in bushes along the roadway.
Sterling and the passenger were assisted to the hospital, where the lawman died while being treated, and the other person remained admitted for treatment.
Investigations are ongoing into the crash.
