United Kingdom (UK)-based dancehall artiste Dubbi has tackled the subject of infidelity and relationship dynamics with his latest single, ‘Side Chick’, which is surging in popularity on the dancehall scene in the United Kingdom.

"My 'Side Chick' song is doing well in the  dances and events in the UK. It is also streaming well in France and the UK, and seems to be a real hit on the Fiesta rhythm. When it plays in the dance, people sing it word for word, it is like an anthem on the Birmingham dancehall scene," Dubbi said.

The ‘Side Chick’ single delves into themes of relationships, loyalty and the complexities of modern love, making it a strong attraction for dancehall fans.

Released on May 19, the track is now available for streaming on Spotify, and can be purchased across all major platforms, including iTunes and Google Play.

Dubbi will be releasing the 'Side Chick' video in the next two weeks

"I am going all out with this one," he said.

Since its release, the song has captivated fans with its dynamic sound and authentic dancehall vibe. The popularity of the song has seen him opening for top artistes like Skeng and Armanii in shows in Birmingham and London in England.

Dubbi's live performances show off his uncanny connection with the crowd, and growing mastery of the genre, proving he’s becoming a force to be reckoned with in the UK dancehall community.

Dubbi’s roots trace back to Chisholm Avenue in St Andrew, where he grew up immersed in the vibrant rhythms of Jamaica’s dancehall culture. A former student of Norman Manley High School, Dubbi was affectionately called ‘Dooby’ by his friends—a nod to the Scooby-Doo cartoon.

Inspired by the cultural icons around him, Dubbi's passion for music was ignited when a friend encouraged him to pursue it seriously. Seizing an early opportunity, he auditioned for the legendary singer Ken Boothe, who gave him a nod of approval—a pivotal moment in Dubbi's journey.

Twenty years ago, Dubbi migrated to the UK, where he began to build his career, drawing from his rich Jamaican heritage to connect with new audiences. In 2006, he debuted his first single, ‘Let Me Loose’, which was well-received and marked the start of his promising journey in the industry.

Recently, he released his ‘Send Me There’ EP, further solidifying his place on the dancehall scene.
