The St Andrew South Police seized one AK47 rifle with an empty magazine and a Taurus 9mm pistol with a magazine containing five 9mm rounds of ammunition in Whitefield Town, Kingston, on Sunday, November 17.
Reports from the Hunts Bay Police are that at about 1:05 am, lawmen were conducting an operation in the area when a man was seen acting in a manner that aroused the police suspicion.
He was accosted, and the area was searched, where an AK47 rifle and Taurus 9mm pistol was found at the man's home.
He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
