The St Catherine South Police, on Tuesday, charged 24-year-old Travis Ellis of Gulf, Gregory Park in the parish with the murder of 77-year-old Barbara Gayle, retired journalist of Caymanas Country Club.

Along with the murder of Gayle, Ellis was also charged with robbery with aggravation in relation to the same incident.

Reports are that at about 11 am, Tuesday, December 17, Gayle’s body was found with multiple stab wounds inside her house. During the investigation, her car was found in the vicinity of Dyke Road in the parish the following day. During the ongoing investigation, Ellis was arrested on Wednesday, December 18 in Grange Lane.

The JCF said it will provide updates on this case as appropriate.
