Sleuths attached to the St Elizabeth Police Division have charged a farmer in
the parish with unlawful wounding following an incident in Burnt Ground distruict, St Elizabeth on Wednesday, January 01.
Charged is 44-year-old Peter Marshall of a Burnt Ground, St Elizabeth address.
Reports from the lawmen are that on the date mentioned above, at about 7:00p.m., Marshall and a woman got into a dispute which became physical.
The woman was allegedly dragged from her
house by the accused man, who then used a machete to chop her.
Lawmen were alerted to the scene and the woman was rushed to hospital where she was treated.
An official statement was given to the police and the accused man was sought, arrested and subsequently charged.
A court date for him is being finalised
