The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has taken charge of the inquiry into the tragic death of 20-year-old bartender Jimoy Suckoo, who lost her life in an incident at the Versailles Hotel on Sunday, January 12.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) in a news release issued today confirmed that a constable from the Specialized Operations Branch is involved in the matter.

“The JCF is fully cooperating with INDECOM to ensure a transparent and accountable investigation. Initial reports indicate that the officer involved has provided a statement outlining the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.

“As the investigation unfolds, the JCF remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, acknowledging the profound impact of this tragedy on M. Suckoo’s family and the community. The force extends its heartfelt condolences to her loved ones during this difficult time.

“Further updates on the investigation will be provided as deemed appropriate by the authorities, reinforcing the JCF's dedication to transparency and justice in this sensitive case,” the JCF release stated.
